Use this list to improve your photography! Shoot this list in any order, skip around, do challenges multiple times, start with the easy ones or the difficult ones, interpret to your liking, combine things!

LEVEL 1 — SHOW UP & SEE (Warm-ups)
- Focus: awareness, participation, breaking autopilot
- Any photo — but crop it later in three different ways.
- Something yellow — shot without centering it.
- Something green — shot from below.
- Something red — shot from very far away.
- A photo taken inside your home — using only window light.
- At least one cloud — wait for an interesting shape.
- Your phone — but pretend it’s your only camera.
- The ceiling where you sleep — make it feel emotional.
- Halfway celebration — recreate your very first photo, but better.
LEVEL 2 — COMPOSITION & GEOMETRY
- Focus: framing, balance, structure
- Leading lines that don’t point to the main subject.
- Fill the frame — then back up one step and reshoot.
- Negative space — make the subject feel lonely.
- Symmetry — break it slightly.
- A perfect square — found, not built.
- Parallel lines — include a human.
- Intersecting lines — freeze the moment perfectly.
- A triangle — made accidentally.
- A perfectly straight line — shot crooked on purpose.
- Stairs — emphasize rhythm, not height.
- A fence or boundary dividing two ideas, not just spaces.
LEVEL 3 — LIGHT (THE REAL SUBJECT)
- Focus: exposure, direction, quality of light
- Golden hour — same subject, two angles.
- Midday harsh light — make it flattering anyway.
- Night photo — no flash, embrace noise.
- One strong light, everything else dark.
- Overexpose creatively — but keep one detail intact.
- Underexpose creatively — reveal only hints.
- Sunbeams through dust, fog, or trees.
- Lens flare — intentional, not accidental.
- Light reflecting on water — abstract it.
- A scene with almost no shadows.
- A scene that is mostly shadow.
- Warm light portrait in low light.
- Colored light — tell a mood story.
LEVEL 4 — MOTION & TIME
- Focus: shutter speed, patience, timing
- Freeze motion — something fast.
- Blur motion — something slow.
- Intentional camera movement.
- Long exposure of water.
- Light trails from vehicles.
- Someone standing still in a moving crowd.
- A falling or bouncing object — try 10 times.
- Time passing slowly.
- Time passing quickly.
- A sequence of 3–5 images that tell a story.
- Same spot, same angle, different times of day.
LEVEL 5 — PERSPECTIVE & SCALE
- Focus: point of view, depth, exaggeration
- Shoot from the floor.
- Shoot from high above.
- Make something small look powerful.
- Make something big feel fragile.
- Forced perspective — playful interaction.
- Shoot through something transparent.
- Reflection — where it’s unclear what’s real.
- Through a window — include reflections.
- Upside down — still readable.
- Use a magnifying glass or lens hack.
- Photograph from the POV of an animal.
LEVEL 6 — COLOR & TONE
- Focus: harmony, contrast, emotional color
- One color dominates the frame.
- Complimentary colors fighting each other.
- Isolate one bright color in a neutral world.
- Black & white — focus on texture.
- Life in monochrome (a whole day if possible).
- Something blue — calm, not sad.
- Something green — growth theme.
- “That’s the wrong color.”
- Interesting hair color — natural only.
- Interesting eye color — no editing.
- Fog — isolate your subject.
LEVEL 7 — PEOPLE & EMOTION
- Focus: storytelling, respect, observation
- Genuine laughter — wait for it.
- Someone deep in thought.
- Someone learning.
- Someone who looks like an expert.
- Hands at work.
- Aging hands — contrast generations.
- Someone starting their day.
- Someone ending their day.
- Someone taking a break.
- Someone having fun.
- Someone showing kindness.
- A gesture without faces.
